Sky and Land

Our landscape photography is inspired by the deep love of nature and our planet earth.
We traveled to northern California, New Mexico, and Utah where we photographed two series; Secret Sky Sacred Land, and Fog and Mirage.

We photographed and captured the stillness and beauty of nature. Secret Sky Sacred Land was created in several locations in New Mexico, some of the places are ancient and Sacred.

Most of the images were shot in White Sands National Park, Alamogordo, during sunset, to capture the pink and orange colors reflected from the sky to the white dunes. The layers of clouds resemble the dunes, and the sky is touching, almost falling to the ground.

The artworks were shot originally, in medium format transparency film and scanned on a drum scan.
The decision to shot in film and not digital was to preserve the natural grainy organic texture that would correspond with the grains of sand, the soil, and the earth. The film’s grainy texture creates softness and adds liveliness authenticity that cannot be reproduced in a digital camera. The grain texture is more visible on a large print.
